SOMETHING GOOD FROM SOMETHING BAD
For the last couple of days the weather in the south-east and mid-Atlantic areas have been extremely bad with first Hurricane Ida then it turned into a nor'eastern storm. We have had steady rains totaling from 4" to 13", high winds gusting to 75 mph along the coast and 20 to 30 mph most other places. Large areas have had power outages, but where I live we haven't had a problem. That is the bad stuff.....
Now for the good that could come from it. This amount of prolonged rain means that the ground is saturated for a long way down! This means that the signal from a detector will go much deeper, and the ground will be much easier to recover a target from. If you are close to a coastal area the high tides will have uncovered targets that have been buried deeply. I plan to do some detecting when the rain stops, and the ground settles a bit....right now it is rather muddy! I'll let you all know if I get out and what I may find.
