Southern Expressions

Greetings to my fellow Southerners. I just joined the group today and thought I would start participating by submitting some of these favorite Southern expressions. I am a true born and bred Southern woman (smile). Let me hear some expressions from all of you...why Bless your hearts.

When I was a kid, a Coca-Cola was the one in the shortest bottle, (gimme a big one) and the name only had three syllables: Co-Cola.

and Coke is the generic term for soft drinks - until you actually place your order. "Let's go get a Coke" means simply to go get something to drink.
