Will you give the government a list of your guns?

H.R. 45: "Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009" which is in the works now would require you have a license to own a firearm. It will make ownership of a firearm illegal if you don't have a license. Read on...

1/6/2009--Introduced.
Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 - Amends the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act to prohibit a person from possessing a firearm unless that person has been issued a firearm license under this Act or a state system certified under this Act and such license has not been invalidated or revoked. Prescribes license application, issuance, and renewal requirements.
Prohibits transferring or receiving a qualifying firearm unless the recipient presents a valid firearms license, the license is verified, and the dealer records a tracking authorization number. Prescribes firearms transfer reporting and record keeping requirements. Directs the Attorney General to establish and maintain a federal record of sale system.
Prohibits: (1) transferring a firearm to any person other than a licensee, unless the transfer is processed through a licensed dealer in accordance with national instant criminal background check system requirements, with exceptions; (2) a licensed manufacturer or dealer from failing to comply with reporting and record keeping requirements of this Act; (3) failing to report the loss or theft of the firearm to the Attorney General within 72 hours; (4) failing to report to the Attorney General an address change within 60 days; or (5) keeping a loaded firearm, or an unloaded firearm and ammunition for the firearm, knowingly or recklessly disregarding the risk that a child is capable of gaining access, if a child uses the firearm and causes death or serious bodily injury.
Prescribes criminal penalties for violations of firearms provisions covered by this Act.
Directs the Attorney General to: (1) establish and maintain a firearm injury information clearinghouse; (2) conduct continuing studies and investigations of firearm-related deaths and injuries; and (3) collect and maintain current production and sales figures of each licensed manufacturer.
Authorizes the Attorney General to certify state firearm licensing or record of sale systems.

I want it known, to all interested parties, that my wife sold all of my guns, then used the money to run away with her boyfriend, I sort of figure I broke even.

Hopefully, the 0bamaists monitoring our thread will strike me off of their list!

You know I would give them a list. Of course, the day that law goes into effect, I just happen to have sold everyone of my guns to some guy with some funny name that I can't remember, who was just passing through town.

Since they cannot take the guns from the criminals because they don't know who they are, they'll take the guns from law-abiding citizens cause it is much easier and they can say they are helping. Yeah right, helping remove the opposition to the criminal who will continue to use his guns on you and me. What's another victim, or two, or a million to the government?

This is not about;
safety, security, crime, the children or any other warm fuzzy thoughts.

This is about control and power over your lives. Remember history.

Ok, I just joined Second Amendment Sisters. I urge all women to do this that care about their constitutional rights. We were given a copy of the constition, in a little booklet form, which fits nicely in my purse. Now, it is my understanding that when these people come to our doors we have the right under the constitution to defend ourselves against the very government from taking our guns away from us.

Don't they already have a list of us law abiding citizens already, since they have to do a background check and register the gun to begin with???

Geez, I am already on a database, because of a simple tattoo for crying out loud. Now that I am legal, aren't I already on that list too?
