Was it St. Pat with the furry hands and crossed eyes that led all the mice out of some village blowing a kazoo? I can't remember the details.......

That was the Pied Piper.
Boy I sure would like to know what literature Yichel has on his bookshelves.........St Pat made the snakes leave Ireland so it was not him.
So how did anyone know when that happened? I mean, I dont know much about Roman boys but suspect they were not much different and maybe they were it bit more open about things back then but still...........did they have to announce it?
If St. Pat rid Ireland of snakes why couldn't he rid Australia of snakes and spiders? Now THAT would be worth a sainthood. While he was at it he could get rid of crocodiles and mosquitos too, along with dingos and rabbits, feral cats and grasshoppers, cane toads and blue ringed octopi and jellyfish and blue algae and ...... He just got rid of snakes?

With that list of stuff to "get rid of" is it any wonder St Pat skipped Australia in favor of Ireland?!

Thats quite alright Yichel, your repatoire fascinates me. You never fail to surprise me. I used to love that sort of stuff years ago the Roman and Greek writers. I bought a whole bunch of "Penguine" classoc books when I was young and back when had the time to read them. Bullfinches mythology and Ovid and Josephus, Saint Augustine and so on and so forth. I named my son Jason from Jason and the Arganauts. The ancient world holds so many wonders and I am convinced many things that man has forgotten. I need many lifetimes to do all the things I would like to do and read all I would like to read, I am envious of you having the brain to hold and remember what you read. I have no memory, If I could recall all I have read, then I would have a vast knowledge but unfortunatley thats not the case and I can not spell either. Sigh........
the pengune editions wrre so cute little black books that attempted to explain the more difficult or cleaned up the too sensual parts I had to find better translations, My fabtasy was to read Ovid in Latin. I have cattulus in latin every now and then i drop a few lines when angry or frustrated here at eons. i once told a LLL to stuff a cabbage in a spcific orifice using a line or two from cattalus.Page 19 poem #6)

JB, St Pat had not heard of Australia, I don't think it was on a map yet! And the English brought the rabbits to Australia to keep the convicts company, now they they just infect them with mixa-sumthing-or-other and leave them dying all over the road! (at least that was the case when I was there in mid-70s)
