This man sells a device that records records to CD. There is a system just for tapes
I have used it to make LPS to CD disks. It works great.
I have a cassette deck installed in my one pc....it is called plus deck...works great if this is all you need to do.
There are a few ways to do this.
Probably the cheapest is to get "Audacity", which is a free recorder, and then play your cassettes through your computer.
While playing the cassettes through your machine, use Audacity to record them.
After you edit them, if you need to edit them, save them to you computer.
Thanks for the info. I'll check them out and see which is the best for me.
I never thought of that! I have cases filled with cassettes and even 8 tracks. I also have my dad's old glass lps and my albums from teen years.
Yeah, Val, and do you still have that "victrola"?

In order for it to be legal you must keep the cassettes.
You can do that with your old LPs as well.
when you buy a cassette, an lp. a cd or any other nusical recording, what you are doing essentially is buying the license for that recording and you can keep the recording in any form or format you choose and as many copies for your own use as you please...

and a cassette deck can be hooked straight into a pc and the recordings stored..or burned to a cd .o.r you can use the Inport by Xitel..that also allows youto hook a turntable into the pc...the Inport can be found on sale for about 50 bucks and comes with a software package as well..
