When I organize my closets in fall and spring I face them all same directions,and by items..like pants,tops,jackets ...but believe me they don't always stay that way.....today I started working on one closet, putting up summer clothes in storage and putting out winter clothes.
Yes, I hang everything in the same direction and also categorize them as funforlee does. No one goes into my closet but me, but it bothers me if things aren't neat. If only I could feel the same way about other areas of the house!
No, I don't hang them facing the same way. My oldest grandson told me I had hung up his T-Shirt wrong. At first I didn't even understand what he was talking about. I have never tried to hand things the same way.
Sure do hang everything the same way, and catagorized, even the hangers have to go on the rod in the same direction........otherwise I'd never find anything........I even do the same for my bureau drawers.......all of one type of clothing is lined up in one direction and always in the same spot.
Shoes I can never find as I take them off at different locations and that is where they stay until I go on a hunting spree and locate them.....I usually am bare footed or sock footed in the house so shoes can be anywhere.

And I even color coordinate the plastic hanger to the clothing.....how sick is that ? hahah

Yes, I do, also, hang my clothes in the same direction and have to have them in the same color coordinated.

Oh, I do too. What is with us? It does make it easier, though. Of course, the hangers have to be put on the rod so that the hook goes over the rod facing away. It is easier that way and also easier to remove. I thought everyone did it that way. I do put similar items together but do not color coordinate entirely. I bought some green hangars this summer (you know how I like green) and now use them for items that have green in them or match green. How weird is that?
I put the clothes the same way and the hangers in the same direction, too.
I also have my own way of hanging clothes on the line. I like to put the towels out by size and color. I also put my face clothes out that way.I put the socks on with the heals facing the same direction. There are some things, we just can't change, i guess.
My mother told me that, when I was only 4, I was fussy about how my clothes were hung. I still am. I have the slacks together, the blouses together, the dresses together...etc. all with buttons/zippers facing left. But, I also have a stack of older jeans...
Jim, I used to color coordinate the hangers to the clothes, too...
