today in new england

On Nov. 9, 1965, the great Northeast blackout occurred as several states and parts of Canada were hit by a series of power failures lasting up to 13 1/2 hours. This was cool in nyc. it was a full moon, the subways justt stopped thankfully the 2 subway riders my father & I were home.
9 months later a slight bump in new borns.

It really had little effect on us in NE PA, no power outages, just the TV stations out of NYC were off the air! Bummer!

Anyone remember the huge forest fires in NW Canada and Alaska; supposidly caused by the Russians with sone form of magnifying glasses that caused fires to start. The smoke/smog was as far South as where we lived in PA. Was this around the same era?
