Do any of you cut your own hair? If so, how long did it take you to learn how to do it?

I often do, the front and sides at least. I'm sure it's to the frustration of my hairdresser, but she never says a word.
I seem to have a knack for hair cutting, but have never had the desire to be a beautician. It just seemed to come natural to me--never really had to learn how.
I always used to do my daughters, and a little boy's that I used to watch. Same now with the gran-angel, but I leave it to her momma except for an occaisonal bang trimming.

I used to trim my own hair when it was very long and only had the ends to do. I've wrapped it for home perms for years - boy, that's hard on the old arms these days. I go to the beauty school and let them do it now.

I cut both my son's and my husband's hair and trim my daughter's long hair. I learned by watching a hair cutting video that came with the clippers I bought.

Being able to do this on my own has saved us a lot of money over the years.

I don't cut my own hair except now and then trim it up over my ears between hair cuts, but I do my own perms and when I colored my hair, I always did that, too.

I used to cut my girls' hair when they were little and my daughter does her husband and the boys.

Between permnants I trim my own hair to the astonishment to the beauty operater. My two sons have been cutting their own hair for years for it just comes natural to them. How they do the back is a miracal of some kind for they both do terrific jobs and look good.

I was a Hairdresser in another life. I used to cut my childrens hair and my husbands. I cut my mothers hair until I had a stroke. Now I terrify everyone with my shakey hands so I only cut my own hair. If I boo-boo its only my hair it will grow back.

I used to cut my daughters hair but for myself i only ever trimmed the ends as it was down to my waist and curly. I have alot of hair...i wouldnt dare try to cut it on my own...God forbid!

I use to cut my own hair, trim it I should say. I thought it looked good, but now looking back on pictures, it wasn't good at all. Hairdressers always, now!

I have never cut my own hair....lol....I think it's probably better left to someone who has had some practice at least....don't wanna wind up with a mohawk....lol

I go into phases where I cut my own hair, the back is hard to do, that's for sure. I just get out the clippers and cut it all the same length with an attachment that clips on the clipper. Then it takes hours to get the hair swept up, all the stray hairs snipped, trim the ears, shower the hair off my body. Then I go to work and people always know I cut my own hair. One lady told me her dad always used to do that, and he said, "Do you know the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut?" The answer was "two weeks". By then it had grown out enough to not look so bad. I'm overdue for another one, but it's just not a priority, like changing my oil or finishing my deck, you know. Form follows function for me, not the other way 'round.
