Eggnog

I just thought about something,I made homemade eggnog for years ,with egg yolks uncooked and I was never sick,I have stopped making it unless I cook the custard and it is a job to keep the custard from scorching so I may stop that too,but I do not want eggnog with artificial ingredients in it,is the simple joy of eggnog gone away?, the docs and health experts say egg nog is a heart attack in a glass. Do any of you still make or drink eggnog?

Yes, we have eggnog for Christmas morn brunch (with a shot a brandy..ha ha) You can still make you own if you make sure to use pasteurized eggs. Chef school hint. I usually make my own hollandaise and mayo. I've never made my own eggnog but would love to have the recipe! Thanks!

Could never stomach the eggnog in a carton bought at the store.
Always made my own eggnog, with cooked eggs, unspiked (without alcohol) and sprinkled with cinnamon. Can't drink too much at a time, tho, because it's fattening.

I drank eggnog once and got the most horrible heartburn I've ever had. Haven't been able to even smell it without my throat burning. Just as well with a heart condition too many eggs not good anyway

I love both eggnog and boiled custard. I usually buy it during the holiday season. I've never made my own or had homemade. I like to stir a little whiskey in it and drink it with fruit cake, jam cake, or just holiday cookies. I can never decide which I like the best so I get both of them!
