It has been awhile things have been crazy at work and believe it or not my granddaughter turned 2 last weekend so I have been to busy to sew. Boy have I missed it. I had started a Christmas project 3 weeks ago and have not been able to get back to it.

Well a friend at work just had her 1st granddaughter about 3 weeks ago so this was the 1st weekend I had free to make a quilt. Yeah I made an easy pattern so i could get it done,lazy me but I didn't want the baby to be grown up by the time I got to it. I posted the picture below.

I still am having a problem with bunching up a bit in the back but I hope my friend and the baby won't care. It was made with love and as all you ladies have told me the mistakes make it special. Boy is the back of this quilt special!

Last year, when my last great-grandchild was born, I made a quilt using 12 squares. The background material on each square was something describing the month, i.e., January was snow, Feb., was hearts, etc. etc. (All that material sitting around comes in handy!) Then with the machine, I wrote Jan., Feb. etc. on the square. For Nov., which was her birthday, I wrote her name and birthday. I used black sashing to set off the bright colors of the squares. It was really easy to do and my granddaughter likes that quilt better than the others I've made for other kids. So an easy pattern isn't a bad thing.
