Journey to the great unknown
Hi everyone. I hope you are all doing a great as I am. Im in day 4 of my diet/ exercise program. So far I'm doing well. I did however have to up my calorie intake from 1200 to 1400 daily. I was feeling light headed on 1200, so my doctor suggested I add a few hundred. After doing that I feel much better.
Everyday that I wake up and commit myself to this diet I feel like I'm entering uncharted territory. Well I suppose I am. I've never in my life counted calories or had an exercise plan. I just ate what I wanted with no thought to weither it was healthy or not and most of the time it wasnt. It's a lot easier than I thought.
The day before I began, I was scared to death about only eating 1200 calories. I thought for sure I was going to be starving. To my suprise I wasn't. Even tho those wern't enough calories for my body, they were plenty for my stomache. I never felt hungry. The trick is to slow down when you eat, take smaller bites, or count to 20 between bites. This has helped me a lot.
I learn something new everyday.. I make it a point to visit weightloss sites every morning. I want to play an active part in my diet. I don't allow myself to get so comfortable that I go into auto pilot mode, i'll have a better chance for success.
I found a really great site for low calorie recipes. This site has some groovy recipes. Check it out if www.allrecipes.com . In the search bar, on the page, just put in 'low calorie' and it'll pop up a list for you. The thing I like most about this site is that it lets you copy recipes without having to copy the entire page. And it also lists the calorie count for every recipe.(The only meats I eat are ground turkey, chicken breast, and baked salmon.)
