Newbie here...

I haven't been diagnosed but my primary care doctor put in a referal for a rheumatologist (sp). I just need to give their office a call. I just know I've never felt this way before. I hurt all over, but not all the time. The pain is mostly in my joints (the majority of them) and some muscle ache. My primary checked some of the pressure points. When pressing on those areas it feels like there should be a bad bruise there. Certain smells really bother me and I have touble sleeping. I've been very anemic twice. The first time my hemoglobin level was 6 (it should be between 12 and 15) and this last time it was 7. Luckily this time I didn't have to be admitted to the hospital. I did, however, have to be an outpatient for the day so I could receive 2 units of blood through an IV. My legs sometimes feel very heavy and my energy level is at an all-time low. Most days, in the middle of the day, I feel pretty good. Even good enough to get a few things done. But by most evenings I'm hurting. I've tried lots of different things; medications, alternative medicine...lots of different things. I'm just so sick and tired of feeling so sick and tired. And this isn't just feeling tired...it's sheer exhaustion. Last night I only dosed off and on. My concentration isn't what it should be. I forget easily and sometimes lose the word I'm trying to say. I haven't felt "normal" in awhile. I almost forget what that feels like.

Even without the "official" diagnosis, it certainly sounds like Fibro. I hope you find the support and info you need on this group. We all experience the frustration of pain, exhaustion and lack of sleep.
Since our brain neurons constantly misfire we experience pain more acutely. The smells (plus sensitivity to touch, bright lights and loud noises) tend to cause sensory overload with many of us.
We each have had to reinvent our new "normal." Even with excellent medical care living with Fibro is very challenging. For me, the best weapons are being very pro-active in my medical care and trying to maintain a positive attitude.
This group is a great help because I know I can come here with my frustrations and every gets it!

Thanks for the intro. It's nice to have you in our FMily. Hugs, Marcia

I agree with Nana, sounds like fibro. One of the best, and hardest thing to do is stay as positive as you can. I just keep telling myself it could be worse ( and it has been for me ).

I hope the Rheumy is able to diagnose you. Your symptoms sure do sound like Fibro but the anemia isn't part of fibro that I am aware of. Maybe you have some sort of blood disorder. I hope that you get the answers and treatment to help you live a more comfortable life. You have my compassion as I know how miserable we can feel.

I'm glad you were directed here and hope you find the information we have in the files helpful. This is a really sharing group, and we run a lot of things by each other. Bright blessings, and welcome, I hope you get a diagnosis soon, whatever it is, so that you can find some comfort and peace, and a road to maitenance, if not recovery.
