Heart rips.....

Strictly speaking this is not intellectual I suppose unless one considers basic emotions as getting to the mind.....

Still, I wanted to share this.....music from deep in my past and culture.....the rural, truck-driving based South.....

Think you can handle this?

There is a challenge here.....listen to this, do not have tears, and still convince me you have a heart.....

Or admit to the tears as I do.....

I have always loved "Teddy Bear" and am tearing up without even playing it. I relly hate that our society puts so little value on simple heartfelt emotion.

One of my biggest problems with the people I met at college was their posture that to be sophistocated one had to be blase. They affected this attitude of having seen it all and been bored by it. I could not go there with them. If to be intelligent means to give up joy and wonder; then color me stupid (but happy)!!

Red Sovine had a beautiful way of touching the basic human part of us all. Thanks hershman for the reminder.

Oh, I forgot. One of my favorite Grooks is:

"Naive you are
If you believe
Life favors those
Who aren't naive."

What part of the rural South are you from hersh? When my kids were young and CB radios were in vogue, we had one in the car and could hear some of the truck drivers talk to each other. It gets lonely on the road for them, and talking to each other keeps them entertained as well as informed about detours, road hazards, cops, etc. Yeah, 10-4 and all that good stuff. BTW those vids made me cry too.
