Lovely shot, M. One doesn't expect to see dunes in northern Michigan.

It's really a spectacular area. The dunes are incredibly high. They are on Lake Michigan and although I lived in Michigan for more 30 years I'd never gone there until 2007.

Beautiful photos. I love the contrasting color between the lake and sky.

They are amazing, aren't they! I have fun family memories of these dunes, and one that wasn't so nice. My dad blacked out halfway up while climbing.

Photoart, you must go see them! They're simply stunning. Both Empire and Glen Arbor are great.

Good pics.We have the Oregon dunes that are huge also and very hard to climb up.They are actually invading nearby campgrounds and causing some of the sites to be closed.People come from far away to ride their dune buggys in the sand, they sure do make a lot of noise.Would love to see the dunes in MI.They are really good pics. Thanks for sharing.
