That is too funny! Poor dog! I have heard of people using domestic geese for "watchdogs" on their property because of being territorial. Might not be a bad idea.

She wanted them out of the water, didn't she? That must be her swimming area! Tooooo funny.

I have known since I was a child that geese are mean and they bite. That includes wild or tame and swans are even larger and meaner. I am amazed when people have geese in petting zoos. Not a good idea.

had no idea they were that bad!
My dachshund would have killed it, no problem. He even would have jumped in the water after it.

yes they are much badder and aggressive than most people think. and Joan don't think a goose could not do damage to your dachsy geese are a formidable enemy for a small dog. i have seen them take a 1" x 1" hunk of flesh out of an animal.

There was a goose and a turkey at my grandmother's house that would terrorize me whenever I went into the back yard. Well, one summer I was taller then both of them and my grandmother told to me to "whop the living daylights out of them". I did - we had turkey that evening for dinner. The goose never bothered me again.

Yes, my doxie probably would fight to the end of his life, he is like that.
He grabbed a fired up firework fountain and ran in the lake with it to drown it. Mouth was burned but he was protecting his kids. This dog is incredible.
He also attacked an intruder who robbed 3 houses on my street and they caught him with dog bites on his leg. One of the houses had a huge doberman who did nothing.
Yet he swims with the mallard ducks and sun bathes with them.
His best friend is my cat "Fish"
Just don't threaten him, he ain't having it.
