Hello and welcome to our group! We are pleased to have you join us as we are a fun
and friendly group of people who love talking about England and her neighbors. Even the
land of Eyre gets a mention from time to time. Hope you have fun too! OPL
Thank you for such a lovely welcome. I was browsing Eons' and when I saw this group I thought I'd join as I am actually a Brit although the main part of my life has been in Jamaica where I now live permanently. Will enjoy reading other people's feelings. I hate English weather but love its landscape especially the rolling countryside of Dorset where I lived for 15 years and the mountains of Wales - where my ancestors come from.
My McGalliard grandmother says hi - Your dear dear friend Bill.
Unfortunatly its the weather that makes Britain so beautiful and green. I dont mind the weather there having lived in Michigan since I left. I would take their winter any day over 6 months of it like we get here. Love the rain.......but I must say the cold over there penetrates to the bone because of the dampness. Here you just freeze now and then going from car to shop. I seldom wear a coat as I am never cold long enough to need one very often.
WELCOME to the group - it's a really cool group!
Lady Jane is a most talented woman. This Brit in Jamaica is a talented writer, retired school teacher, has a play she wrote that is soon to be presented, and she has a Jamaican Calendar that she gives to a few friends. It COULD be available for a fee if she gets enough orders quite soon. Send her a message if you are interested - also let me know as I am seeing if there is interest in the USA.
