Is anyone participating in NaNoWriMo?

This is my first time participating with National Novel Writers Month (www.nanowrimo.org) So far, things are going well. I am on schedule for my 50,000 words.

For those not familiar with it, the challenge is to write 1,667 words each day for 30 days. That will give you 50,000 words. "Winning" is not monetary...or anything other than getting all those words on paper.

The forums are very helpful and I find in inspiring to share thoughts and struggles with other writers there too.

Drew, It's great to hear from you. Writing a 50,000 word novel in one month is indeed a big challenge. You seem to be enjoying the writing and the forums. Keep us posted on how you do.

There are several of us who enter this each year. It's lot of fun and you do have the opportunity - maybe- of seeing your manuscript in book form. Many of the winners have gone on to contracts, etc. Good luck and remember December and January are for rewrite.

Thanks!

My story is actually a rewrite that, I felt, was a little thin with the plot and character development. It's going much better..and I've been able to build the tension...and have turned out some really interesting scenes.

I will definitely push to get this done......It's the first of a trilogy I have planned.
