Changes in Veterans Affairs

I noticed a piece in the Boston Globe that the DoD has changed some rules regarding veterans "out of uniform".

It is now OK for Veterans to salute our flag rather than a "heart salute".
Only soldiers on active duty either in or out of uniform to salute AND military veterans allowed. All others should use the right hand over heart "the heart salute".

Although I cannot find the source, it is also OK to wear your military citations on dress uniform described as formal wear, suits, etc.

Are there any other changes that you are aware of??

................hey Ricky. I actually recieved news of both of these bits of data several weeks ago in my DOA Retirement Newsletters I receive every quarter or so. Thanks for adding the news here, where I had not thought of it. Well this is my 40 year anniversary of surviving the war and trauma, and I'm headed up to Virginia City for the Veteran's Day parade. Hope you will enjoy it too somewhere my friend................
...............If you know anyone retired for combat disabilities, you might check and see if they know about the Combat Related Special Compensation now available for those designated with combat disability ratings. I am rated as 80% physical and PTSD, and also the IU va rating with a total of 100%, and so DOA awarded me $110 a month, which is a sweet little bit of official recognition. .....
.............take care.............Nam...
