I started back a couple of weeks ago.I took a pay cut so its a little bit at a time for me PMOM
Lean times here to so no presents except for the grand daughter. I will be making a nice dinner and having the kids over, it's always a good time. My daughter in law has her mom living with them so she will be here plus her brother.
Years ago when my boys were younger, late teend early 20's you never know who might show to say howdy and have a bit. Many of their buddies would stop in. I miss those days.Nothing like feeding a house full of young men.
That was fun wasn't it. My dad was a serviceman and on some of those holidays he would invite some of the young soldiers to our house to give them a taste of home. i was a teen at the time and you know how teen girls are. I was glad to get a chance to innocently flirt with the young guys. Didn't let my dad know it though. he would have not been happy!
Was it ever. I had a couple, girlfriends of mine, over for a Thanksgiving. Oh the looks on their faces when the crew came by, At the time the blue hair, and mohawks and the like was all the rage...lol, to funny! These young men have all turned out to be wonderful adults, so sad to not have those dinners now.Maybe when the grands are that age huh?
We got out of the gift business several years ago. It is wonderful! We enjoy the holidays, attend programs for many different faith journeys, spend time with friends, and give thanks for the blessing of another year. This turns out to be one of the most pleasant and least stressful time of the year for Robin and I.
