Just what is PC? Do we really need to be PC when we are involved in a war of ideologies? Can our Military afford to be PC when they know they have a potential terrorist threat within their ranks? I would offer that having 13 dead and 30 wounded soldiers at Ft. Hood would be a good case for removing any part of PC actions by our military within their ranks. For me PC in our Military is PURE CRAP

Fort Hood's 9/11

On Thursday afternoon, a radicalized Muslim US Army officer shouting "Allahu Akbar!" committed the worst act of terror on American soil since 9/11. And no one wants to call it an act of terror or associate it with Islam.
What cowards we are. Political correctness killed those patriotic Americans at Ft. Hood as surely as the Islamist gunman did. And the media treat it like a case of non-denominational shoplifting.
This was a terrorist act. When an extremist plans and executes a murderous plot against our unarmed soldiers to protest our efforts to counter Islamist fanatics, it’s an act of terror. Period.
When the terrorist posts anti-American hate-speech on the Web; apparently praises suicide bombers and uses his own name; loudly criticizes US policies; argues (as a psychiatrist, no less) with his military patients over the worth of their sacrifices; refuses, in the name of Islam, to be photographed with female colleagues; lists his nationality as "Palestinian" in a Muslim spouse-matching program, and parades around central Texas in a fundamentalist playsuit — well, it only seems fair to call this terrorist an "Islamist terrorist."
But the president won’t. Despite his promise to get to all the facts. Because there’s no such thing as "Islamist terrorism" in ObamaWorld.
And the Army won’t. Because its senior leaders are so sick with political correctness that pandering to America-haters is safer than calling terrorism "terrorism."
And the media won’t. Because they have more interest in the shooter than in our troops — despite their crocodile tears.
Maj. Nadal Malik Hasan planned this terrorist attack and executed it in cold blood. The resulting massacre was the first tragedy. The second was that he wasn’t killed on the spot.
Hasan survived. Now the rest of us will have to foot his massive medical bills. Activist lawyers will get involved, claiming "harassment" drove him temporarily insane. There’ll be no end of trial delays. At best, taxpayer dollars will fund his prison lifestyle for decades to come, since our politically correct Army leadership wouldn’t dare pursue or carry out the death penalty.
Maj. Hasan will be a hero to Islamist terrorists abroad and their sympathizers here. While US Muslim organizations decry his acts publicly, Hasan will be praised privately. And he’ll have the last laugh.
But Hasan isn’t the sole guilty party. The US Army’s unforgivable political correctness is also to blame for the casualties at Ft. Hood.
Given the myriad warning signs, it’s appalling that no action was taken against a man apparently known to praise suicide bombers and openly damn US policy. But no officer in his chain of command, either at Walter Reed Army Medical Center or at Ft. Hood, had the guts to take meaningful action against a dysfunctional soldier and an incompetent doctor.
Had Hasan been a Lutheran or a Methodist, he would’ve been gone with the simoon. But officers fear charges of discrimination when faced with misconduct among protected minorities.
Now 12 soldiers and a security guard lie dead. 31 soldiers were wounded, 28 of them seriously. If heads don’t roll in this maggot’s chain of command, the Army will have shamed itself beyond moral redemption.
There’s another important issue, too. How could the Army allow an obviously incompetent and dysfunctional psychiatrist to treat our troubled soldiers returning from war? An Islamist whacko is counseled for arguing with veterans who’ve been assigned to his care? And he’s not removed from duty? What planet does the Army live on?
For the first time since I joined the Army in 1976, I’m ashamed of its dereliction of duty. The chain of command protected a budding terrorist who was waving one red flag after another. Because it was safer for careers than doing something about him.
Get ready for the apologias. We’ve already heard from the terrorist’s family that "he’s a good American." In their world, maybe he is.
But when do we, the American public, knock off the PC nonsense?
A disgruntled Muslim soldier murdered his officers way back in 2003, in Kuwait, on the eve of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Recently? An American mullah shoots it out with the feds in Detroit. A Muslim fanatic attacks an Arkansas recruiting station. A Muslim media owner, after playing the peace card, beheads his wife. A Muslim father runs over his daughter because she’s becoming too Westernized.
Muslim terrorist wannabes are busted again and again. And we’re assured that "Islam’s a religion of peace."
I guarantee you that the Obama administration’s non-response to the Ft. Hood attack will mock the memory of our dead.

The media and the politicians are dancing around this one! "Will we ever know what made him do this horrible thing?" I think we do know and yes, it is not politically correct to say it. He screamed God is Good in Arabic and then aimed at and shot American soldiers. He is a radical Muslim in the US Army - very conflicted I am sure. But, he could resign his commission, or learn to separate his love of America from his devotion to Islam and be a good solider. His choice to kill innocent, unarmed soldiers was a deliberate act of terrorism.

Obama's apparent lack of empathy was stunning. He got on point finally, but it took him a while. He is not in touch with the public's sentiments on this or the other business in Washington. I truly wish he was!

PC or not the man was having problems with his troops; (those he was suppose to lead). HOW long do you think he would have lasted IF he had shipped out ? Did you ever hear of friendly fire ?

I'm not condoning his actions. I'm not a psychiatrist, but his being one AND Hearing the HELL that our soldiers go tru I understand WHY he was afraid to go. He should have just skipped off to Canada like the other cowards during the Vietnam era.

I wish the mainstream media wasn't trying to shove happy-happy-joy-joy down our throats and we got balanced reporting. I know, it will never happen. But even a semi-sentient person has to be aware that our President is not gaining in approval ratings with the general public, and distrust in his leadership and agenda (both public and private) is growing.

As unusual as it is for a president to be a lame duck (one-term) Commander-in-Chief, I think it might already be time to chant..."lame duck, lame duck, lame duck." Bring it.

Everybody laughs at me, because I'm ready, lock and loaded. Why ? look how many Muslim are in the U.S. it seems to me that they all stick together. It seems to me they don't care about this country. All they do is make money and sent it home! They say it's for there family, but I wonder? I'm not saying all are bad, but you just don't know, with all that's going on! So I look over my shoulder, it's better to be safe then ignore what's going on around you! Peace.

Am I the only adult in this country who doesn't understand what politically correct is? What in the world ever happened to if someone is doing wrong you say so? Just flat out say it. None of this "oh let's see how sweet I can make this sound so no one gets their feelings hurt. Hells Bells people, a muslim terrorist shot and killed American soldiers on an American military base. What part of that do our "so called leaders" not understand about that? I declare the more that goes on and the less this administration does about it is enough to make me want to just scream.

You know, its not an issue of being PC to recognize that Muslims are just human beings who want to have the same lives as the rest of us. Tim McVey was not a Muslim, but everyone at first wanted to blame the OKC bombing on Muslims. Tim McVey killed a huge number of innocents - we tend to forget that.

As to the shooter at Fort Hood, he is responsible for his own actions. Note, his family (Muslim) and his mosque are horrified at his behavior - his family has totally disavowed his violence. Assuming he lives, he will be tried by a military court and I have little doubt that he will be convicted and executed - as was Tim McVey by a criminal court.

If we are going to lock and load on the Muslims I'd like to remind people what happened when we threw Japanese Americans into concentration camps. I went to school with many children whose parents were in those concentration camps. My grandfather used to get the crap kicked out of him during WWII for having the misfortune to be the editor for a German and English religious newspaper. I'm probably lucky there were not lock and loaders who simply shot him to death because he was viewed of as the enemy, despite his being a pacifist who would not lift a hand to defend himself.

There are always rotten people in the world, but just as many rotten people are Christians as any other religion. No religion - not one - has a great track record regarding terrorism and violence. Almost all serial killings and mass murderers in America are Christian. view link This certainly does not mean all Christians are murderers - there is a difference between causation and correlation, just as there is in the instant case at Ft. Hood.

As to President Obama being Muslim, that is not the case. view link However, if he was Muslim, so what?

My Muslim neighbors, and I've had lots, are great people whom I've never had a lick of problems with not even one of them. It is not PC to give my neighbors the respect and acceptance I expect from them in return.

I return you to your regularly scheduled program...

Well said CelticAutumn....my feelings exactly.

Having worked in medicine for 40 years and some of that time in "mental health" facilities, I am of the opinion that this "soldier" was mentally ill and it should have been recognized long ago.He should have been removed from his position and sent for treatment
According to reports, he started to "act out" months ago while supposedly "treating " other soldiers with stress syndroms.
When this was reported to "the powers that be" it was not taken seriously.

I feel that it is some of our "not too bright" people in charge" who are at fault for totally missing what was right in front of them or....perhaps choosing to ignore it.
I feel they share most of the guilt for this horrific act!!!
