Veteran's Day

Veterans Day Pictures, Images and Photos

I Bowed my head daily
Giving thanks to those
who readily,
serve their country unafraid.
came home bounded with memories,
of friends who fallen bravely.

I've Bowed my head with images
from years of long ago before
our time.
served their counry with belief
instead of fright but relief.

Some ran to country afar
Many believed not to fight
their choices of freedom
are what USA stands for darkiness
or in the light.

Prehaps on this, Veteran's Day.
Your heads shall bow for peace.
that those who fought anyway
gave their lives for each of us today.

I thank all of our Veterans living and dead- for without them there would be no America.

In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Airborne this is such a beautiful tribute to those who are so worthy of our honor. I pray for those hands found worthy to carry the torch. God bless our Veterans!
