Still Working?

Was reading some of the comments about loving/hating your job and was just wondering: How many of us are still working?

I took an early retirement to move to Wi. with my daughter and her family, however I still work. I'd love to be retired, but I like to eat, so work it is.

I am self employed doing something that I love. Yes, I am still working but I have a down time right now, which is much needed.

I'm retired and not working even part time. Not that I couldn't, but really don't want to answer to anyone any more. The budget is a little tight, but I manage to do some fun things and take a little trip now and then, so I 'm quite content.

I had to retire in 2004 - and am now getting disability soc. security. I got so depressed for a while - I didn't mindnot woking so much as not hving the option. Quitting by choice would have been a lot better.

We're alike mtwoman - our budget is very tight now, too.

I still work full-time--which ends up being well over 40 hours each week. Was hoping years ago that by this age(61) I'd be retired and enjoying life--but no such luck.

I too was forced to retire because of a disability, that was in 1993 . It was hard adjusting at first, now I really like having my own time . My husband retired two years ago. It cramped my style at first, but we agreed to keep doing our own thing. Our budget maybe tight but what else is new.

I work 3 nights a week at the newspaper.
It's more for something to do, rather then for the money....which is really not that much.
It gets me out of the house, and I get to see people whom I have made as friends thru the years.
I'm now 62...and would like to continue working until I am 65.
However it gets tiring, as of late. I work strange hours, all thru the night, but it leaves my days free to do as I please.
