Quilting Magazines

I would like to survey the group and find out what quilting magazines are popular and where you get most of your inspiration?

Everyone have a great weekend.

At one time or another I have subscribed to Quiltmaker, F&P, McCalls, American Patchwork, and have let them lapse. QuiltMaker was great when I was starting out. McCalls was interesting for the shops they highlighted. They even did one focusing on a shop in North Adams, MA [Tala's] that I've been to a few times. It's a bit of a right but a dandy shop. I'm not renewing QN because it doesn't have much that I want to do. Like Dancer, I go on line and see what's there. I already have enough patterns in binders to last several lifetimes.

I dropped McCalls, F&P, Quiltmaker and now I only get Quilters Home which I LOVE...however, I have heard thru the grapevine that Mark Lipinski is no longer gonna be affiliated with the magazine...has anyone else heard this? all the girls from my Guild that went to Houston Quilt Show came back with this rumor...

I get Easy Quilts and Quilters newsletter. But I buy Quilts and more when I can find it.
I like easy fast and crafts too!

Yes, I too have heard that Mark is done with Quilter's Home as of the Jan'10 issue. He is no longer a part of Quilt Out Loud. You can confirm this by reading his blog. Too bad as I really enjoy his magazine. Often has some good articles-how many quilt patterns can you make up anyway.

So many patterns....so little time. If I sat at my machine for 10 years I wouldn't make a dent in the ones I have....yet I print more! Do we all have OCD when it comes to quilt patterns, I wonder?

Maybe we need to start Quilters Anonymous!! Maybe not-I love my addiction and have no desire to give it up!!

As addictions go this is a pretty tame one. I suppose drugs and alcohol would be more expensive and then you have nothing to show for it.

I too have notebooks and notebookes of patterns I want to make one day not to mention everything I see reminds me a quilt pattern that could be worked up. I also have a stash that is running me out of my sewing room. I've been told a large fabric stash is like an IRA - a hedge on retirement when a fixed income won't allow us to purchase fabric. Not to mention that when I retire it will most likely be $20 a yard!!
