I am so ready for a little bit of outdoor time and this weekend seems to be it! So I am up and at it this morning.
Me too, I couldn't sleep and got up around 4 and I'm waiting for it to warm up. We are smoking a fresh ham today. Weather looks good for the next week.
That is one cute picture.

Was up at 5am watching the dear munch on the neighbors flowers!!!
Kay, can you believe it is 52 degrees outside already !!!!!!!!!!!!! and the sun is out and shining bright! This is going to be a great day to be outside. However, I'm not working in the garden, have to continue working on replacing windows at the sons place. The good side of this is, it will be warm outside, and I won't have to wear gloves !!!!!!!!!!
Anyhow, yesterday I was able to cut down all the major flowerbeds! I was able to do 4-5 days worth of work in a half a day. I used the tractor and cut all the flowers, hosta, etc off at 6" the debit that was left is great for mulch over the winter. However, the flowerbeds on the hills will have to be done by hand!
Now if the weather stays good next week, I can start thinking about firewood for this winter!
Cheers!!!!

Too warm to sleep. I was up early, but went back to sleep for a bit. Got a crockpot of gourmet broccoli - cheese soup cooking. I have a bunch of raking to do & this is a great day to do it.
Wow, cute picture! My daughter's dog usually stays out of my garden, but I'm going to be putting in a new one where she wants to run every day. We'll see what happens.
Another gorgeous day here, high to be in 70's. I was up at sunrise to spray down my new backdoor patio. They said once it dries today, I can walk on it. I can't wait to get out there and replace all my landscaping block that they tore out to put it in. Then I can shovel up the dirt around it. I now have a couple of narrow flower beds between the retainer wall and the new sidewalk and patio. I've saved desert wildflower seeds to plant there. I'm thinking Navajo tea in the shady section, interspersed with Mexican evening primrose, and desert marigold, and I think it's called silver groundsel in the hot sunny part.
This is so encouraging to finally have the patio in. Now I can do other landscaping that has been waiting on the patio. It's not time to shut down my garden yet, will be posting new pictures under Gardening in Warmer Climates, sometime when I'm taking a work break.

New Patio
Thought I'd share a picture of the aforementioned new patio. I took lots of pictures for my grandson, as he had to leave just as they were beginning to frame up for it. He totally missed the huge cement mixer right in our backyard, and was so disappointed that he had to go to school instead. Integrating this big thing into my landscape will give me many hours of pleasure I'm sure.
