Some Millionaire Corrupt Congressmen and women pretending to have negative net worth!

because the law does not require them to list the value of their mansions, for one thing...

Maybe we should offer them a low-interest loan from our savings?

It's really none of my business how wealthy someone is as long as they earned their money honestly, obey the law, pay their taxes due, etc. I think, in this country, we are allowed to use our talents, intelligence, genius--whatever you want to call it, to become as wealthy as we can. I read the article, but perhaps I missed the section that detailed the corrupt congressmen and women who pretend to have negative net worth.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not at all happy with the state of this nation right now. We've all made some huge mistakes and it is going to be a long time before we pull ourselves back up again. I would urge anyone with any complaints to detail them in a letter to every elected official in their state. It might not do any good, but it sure won't if it isn't written. I am of the opinion that the internet has opened up an easy avenue of contact and we should use it. The squeaky wheel gets the oil, so to speak, and I don't think they can deny the unhappiness in this country if enough e mails fill their in baskets.

OOPS, I just tripped getting off my soapbox! ;~D

"I missed the section that detailed the corrupt congressmen and women who pretend to have negative net worth."

There was a paragraph in that link with a bunch of names who pretend they have neg net worth, because the law allows them to not disclose the values of their mansions! Sander Levin from MI (sure not pauper!!), Alcee Hastings, and others.

Some of the multi-mills made their $ honestly and some even deserved it, did not inherit it, like Issa of CA, the wealthiest of all, became rich because he was a successfulbusinessman before he went into politics. Kerry inherited his from the rich wife no 1 and much richer widow wife no 2 he married.

Sometime ago it was women that got wealthy by marrying older men, but in Kerry's case we have a new trend.. LOL.

What frosts me more is that we can't vote them out.

We can't? We have in the past (1994!) and we will again (2010 and 2012!)

What frosts me the most is the fact that they have a different social security plan, they receive their salary for life. It's all about greed and power. They spend our tax dollars even for private jet use, like Nancy P. last trip. They talk out of both sides of their mouth, and no one to account to. We are trillions of dollars in debt, our jobs are going, it blows my mind. What to do ? What to do? We should all march on Washington and demand to be heard.

Nope that don't piss me off, because if it's in the tax code it's legal and I can't match their contributions to political campaigns to influence what gets put in the tax code so it's Que Sara Sara.........

Que Sara Sara.....(SIC!!!)

It's "Que Serat, Serat" (whatever will be, will be).

And it should piss you and everybody else ROYALLY when these corrupt, incompetent Congressmen and Senators pretend to disclose their net worth, but put the loophole that excludes their MANSIONS, which, for some, could be the majority of their net worth.

If they had an ounce of honesty and were not in the business of fooling the long-suffering voter, they would just refuse to disclose their net worth, period.

If they aren't breaking the law, how can they be corrupt? Go after the ones that are taking bribes and pay to play. Those are the corrupt ones! If you don't like the loophole, do something to close it, and good luck with that!

Not only don't they disclose their full net worth, they also don't file taxes, that pisses me off...amongst many other things having to do with politics and the good old boy network!
