I have CATS! They motivate me to sit in my chair and love on them! When Brother, the hefty kitty, has had enough kitty rubs, he runs to his food bowl. If I don't follow, he comes back and tries again! Brother favorite 'activity' is to wrestle with Ichabod. Ichabod's favorite game is to chase wadded up paper! If he hears me wad up paper, he comes running. Eventually, that paper ball will end up in the communal food or water bowl.
I used to play with the laser light with Lenny around 7pm when the news comes on, but I have to replace it because it died. He loved that, tired him out really good.
He's like a little kid sometimes where attention goes.. if I ignore him he will do all these bad things to get it. Grrrrr..he ends up on my lap. He hates for me to be talking on the phone,he demands that is his time.
I have two boot strings tied together and run through the housw and Shala will chase it, but now that my other cats have died, Shala is not as willing to play. I also have a laser light that I use for her to play.
That's interesting. I just got the laser light also. All my cats love it. They also love a long string with a little feather attached to it. I run it through the house or between furniture for them. Zena cats also likes to chase the little paper-balls that I pop with my fingers. But that's not a lot of exercise for me. So I am glad I have the dogs. I used to go to the gym, but now I just walk the dogs. I try to do it each day, but sometimes I get a little on the lazy side and skip a couple of days. My dogs will let me know that they want to go. They go to where the leashes hang and start whining. Problem is that the walk is up and down some rather steep hills. These days I have problems catching my breath when the dogs half-way run up those hills (no, I don't have heart problems; I am just getting old...) We usually walk for about 45 minutes.
Yep, that laser light has always been a favorite. I think we enjoy it as much as they do.....it's a hoot to watch them! Mary I agree with you...Pesu' could be sleeping, and if I get on the phone, it's a done deal...I could be in the living room and hear her in the bathroom, banging the cupboard door, under the sink repeatedly, and continuing until she gets my attention, and I address her by name and say, "what are you doing" She'll then stop and come running to me! It's funny, and she always has to get the last word in!
Since I retired in May, I have a lot of time to play with my kitty-girls. They love the lazer light and we do this while the news is on. I also pull a string through the house with a toy attached. In addition,I ordered walking jackets for the girls and I will be taking them for walks:-) I'll let you know how this goes....
Linda, how nice you are able to spend more time with, 'the girls'! My cat loves playing with a plastic straw and batting it around the house. Walking jackets? You peaked my curiosity....tell us more, if you wouldn't mind. pix? website?
