CelticLadee...the woman who coordinates the rescues saw Miley (the bigger puffy on) about 2 weeks ago for the first time since february when we got her. She could hardly beleve it was the same dog. When we got her she was skinny, nly 5lb and her hair was all shaved from being so matted.

Miley sure does look like a Pom to me. I have never seen a Papillion with all that thick fur or a face exactly like hers. It is a bit more rounded or softer you could say than the Paps. I have seen other black and white Poms that look a lot like her. Does she have the butterfly ears? Doesn't look like it in the pic but I could be wrong about it. If she does she could be mixed Pom/Pap. Anyway, I sure do see Pom in your girl hollyj04. She is really is gorgeous! The woman you mentioned must have been just so thrilled to see the awesome changes in Miley. Must tickle you to know it too. ;-)

No butterfly ears on Miley...definately Pom ears..mostly Pom from what I can tell but I'm not expert at all on Poms. Papillons is another story we are up to #5 with them :) Halo & Meisha are Paps.
Oh yes the lady who helped her get rescued from the puppy mill was so excited to see her looking all decked out in her fur! It did make me happy that she was happy, I felt that I was doing something right. I will have to find a picture of Miley when we first got her and post it. She was the saddest looking little thing I ever saw!

I am no expert on Poms but I don't think you need to be to recognize a Pom. I have been around them and intensely focused on them and pics of them for many years. If Miley does not have butterfly ears chances are she is 100% Pom if you ask me. Her face in the "smile" pic you shared is definitely recognizeable as a Pom face in my opinion. She looks like a black and white parti Pom. But if you really want to know without a doubt you could have a DNA test done on her. But I think it is rather obvious. Check these out below.

Oh my gosh she really does look like a Pom! I've also been on Pom Haven's rescue site and they have all the different colors there.
