The Old Wooden Steps

I was out walking in an old park in downtown Traverse City, MI and found an area I hadn't been and where most people don't go... had to almost crawl through overgrowth of bushes and trees. What a sight I must have been, LOL!! I took this photo with a 3.2mp Canon S30 and played with some framing.

Well, you could do well with an old shoe converted into a camera. This is lovely with all the fallen leaves.

Thanks, Pureheart!! Now that I look again, in my opinion the framing way overpowers the photo... I had fun anyway!!

You know, PA.....sometimes it's just best to have fun without getting too critical about one's efforts. Glad you had fun.....

IMHO, I don't see where the frame either adds or detracts. You took an ordinary set of stairs and made a portrait of them. Outstanding work.

A testimony to the photographer and not the camera. Nice work PA, as usual.

It's always interesting how something so mundane can make such an excellent image. Those steps really have personality.

It'd almost be worth the effort to do a 4-seasons set of those steps.

A wonderful shot. I don't think the frame detracts, but it probably doesn't really need a frame.

Very nice photo. Thanks for sharing.

My 2 cents worth on the frame... I think it may detract. When I used paper to block the frame on my screen, the green and stone along side the wood seemed to pop out more.
