How did that happen?

What are your scars? How did you get them?

Oh my goodness: I have one on the back of my hand from when I was a toddler and thought the cat was a squeaky toy. I have three on my left index finger from when I was holding a log for another fourth grade girl scout to saw and the saw jumped and cut me. I have surgery scars on one my right knee and from gall bladder surgery. I have a large scar from a bad scrape from a bicycle wreck on my right knee. I have a chicken pox scar on my belly. I have a scar in my left eyebrow from when I fell off a couch and hit my head on a table when I was two. I have scars where my ear piercings closed up when I stopped wearing earrings. I have scars over my lumbar spine where the dr. couldn't get the lumbar puncture to go through to where it needed to and I had to be poked many, many times. I have scars on my inner elbows from giving blood so many times. And I have stretch marks, which are scars, from being pregnant three times and gaining a bunch of weight since then.

One on my forehead where a guy hit me with a monkey wrench , one on the back of my head where a guy hit me with a coke bottle ( back in the days when they were heavy glass ) , one on my right cheek where I had a melanoma removed , one on my left cheek where I ran into a window pane , one on my right wrist where I burned it on a wood stove , one on my left hand where I blocked a guy swinging a hatchet at me , one on my tongue , where I bit all of the way through my tongue and nearly all of the way across , one on my right knee , where I ran through a barbed wire fence ,one on my stomach , where my gall bladder was removed and one on top of my right foot where it slipped off the bicycle pedal when I was riding very fast barefoot and got jammed under the pedal dragging the top of my foot on the blacktop until it stopped the bike and ripped the whole top of my foot off .

Pretty much scar free, as far as any being noticeable, except for a 9 inch one, left side to back, that I got from a thoracotomy I had in June - they removed a large wedge section of my upper lobe because they thought I had lung cancer. It wasn't but we didn't know that until the 6th day postop. My lower jaw is still up there on the hospital room floor where I first heard the news - I was beyond surprised!

Not too many scars...one on my knee where I fell down on a a cinder walkway as a kid and the cinders are still in there...road rash scars on my rt shoulder and rt wrist from a motorcycle accident...and a surgical scar on my rt temple where it had some corrective plastic surgery done as a child. No scars much bigger than an inch or so.

What lists we have--especially Dirck! What a life you've led, Dirck!

I have a teeny bit of graphite in my leg from a pencil. I was 6 and sat in my brother's lap, not knowing he had a sharp pencil in his pocket. Plenty of accidents, but no other scars that have lasted as long as I have.

I had less scars than most of the guys I hung out with as a kid . Some of them looked like road maps . Just crazy country boys who would try just about anything once .
