K, love Wolfgangs Vault! I was bout fourteen or so when these renditions came out...gotta love the blues.
thank you roger .. you know I'm hot for janis joplin though she is long dead and gone
however, tonight i had the pleasure of dinning with some Iraq veterans in their 20's who had some very lovely ladies in their sights ...
we talked em all into joining us for karaoke and ... well should i say this ... well i was really anticipating one of these hot women were going to deliver on their promise and sing "Piece of my Heart" but some how she got side tracked and thought their was a lot of great somg and sexy crotch rubbing dancing going on .. alas I did not get to hear even the faintest rendition of dear dead janis joplin this evening ... though I must admit ... it was one helluva a great evening for everyone.
but yes , 1968 was special ,,, in fact a watershed moment for young pubescent and prepubescent hippies ever where,
I was getting stoned and laid on a regular basis though to be honest my 15 year old girl friend was not the most sensual woman i've ever met .. infact she insisted on me wearing a rubber each time .. so the stock in goodyear went way up that year.
but aside from all that .. yes .. 1968 was a good year to be young, to be horny and to be stoned.
so thank you ... and by the waqy 2009 isw also a pretty good year to do the same ... as all of you already know .. so lets all get naked and have a great time.
Thanks roger X. Hope we get a chance to compare notes at some point fairly soon ... I dont want to be like Keith Richards, dargging my aching balls around all bandaged up in a wheel barrel dreaming about the times when one could stil act like they were 25 even tough they were fathers and grandfathers of 25 year olds ... but why even think about that ... when there are so many lovely hippie women out there just waiting for a song, or a dance or a kiss or a caress ... well you know what I'm talking about.
Turn the computer off, turn the lights down, get nekid and love like there is no tomorrow ..

How many do u want? Tylenol that is. Yes 1968 was a special year. I got married at the tender age of 16 a baby having a baby because all the time i was horney, young and stoned. That went for my boyfriend then to. Well he was 20. It was a very good year and now that baby will be turning 41 this month and is beautiful and going through hell with her 17yr.,son who knocked up his 16yr.,old girlfriend.GOD help her she also has a 12 yr.old daughter that is going on 18. Let the fun begin. Holy CRAP that is going to make me a Great Granny and i am not even 60 yet!
High! 1968 was a seminal year for me -- politically speaking, we had the Tet Offensive in January, the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., in April, and the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy in June! I graduated that year, with Vietnam THE thing on everybody's mind -- did you get your draft notice? If you did, what were you going to do? Did you know, and could you afford, a lawyer to get you out of it? Were you going to go "underground," (lke my brother-in-law did)? Everyone was looking for a deferment.
1968 my folks divorced after almost 20 years of marriage; my mom had to go back to work (I went with her on job interviews!); and by graduation I was pregnant. I was still Roman Catholic at the time, so I had the baby (abortions were VERY rare back then), and immediately give him up for adoption, then went and got a job, and got on with my life. My boyfriend dealt dope, so I'd been smoking pot since the year before ('67), which I credit with saving my sanity during all the family turmoil I went thru in '68. And, yes, somewhere out there is my "son," who'll be 41 this coming February. Wonder if he looks like me? Think I'll have a fat Hindu Kush doobie, and contemplate things...! Stay High and Peace!
