evening



i miss the diners where can you see cakes that look like someone blown it up or hb so juicy it dripped.. when you got your plate two people could eat it. i miss home fries and good hard rolls. why can't you find food like that everywhere.

great photos.. As for the good food we used to eat. Don't think they make things the way they did way back when. Seems that everyone is in a rush, so no patience to wait for bread to rise, or sifting to get cakes to rise higher..... My kids have no clue how to cook, even though the son is a chef. He is the one who got the education, but if you ask him to cook for you, Dah, I get all the time, since we rarely ask...'.I do that all the time.'

Oh, I do remember those really tall cakes, you could share with people or bring half the slice home. My favorite was yellow cake with lemon or pineapple filling with coconut topping. We stopped by a diner some weeks ago--it felt good.
