We don't have any of these stores nearby. Don't think I'll be driving over to TX. to save $$$. Hope some folks in central IL. can help out with input re: bargains in this area.

Nope, we don't have those either. I need to get more organized to know what I pay where for items I buy regularly. Today in Ralphs they had my favorite chips (special occasions, but I know what they cost), Tostitoes Hint of Lime with a red tag 'special price' of about $3.79. WHAT? I NEVER pay more than $3.00, and can still find them occasionally for $2.50. Ralphs prices are usually higher than Vons. Henry's usually has best prices on produce, but again, you have to watch each item.

My homeowners association fee is going up by $16 in January. My company has a wage freeze. Nice, eh? (I am glad I have a job...)

If you have a Wal-Mart in your town they will match any price you find at any other store within a certain area. Our manager at our Wal-Mart gave us an area of any store in Bryan/College Station, Austin, Temple and the little stores in between. This can be a big savings because we have some large stores like Kroger and such who put things on sale to attract people who would otherwise shop elsewhere.

We don't have any of those here. I go to Sam's Club for anything I buy in bulk, especially meat and seafood, and Sunflower Market for fresh fruits & veggies, because their quality is better for the price. Any canned or packaged stuff I don't buy in bulk I buy at Walmart which is the closest store.
