I have decided this is not the presidents remarks…Its Robert A. George’s remarks of the presidents actions not words…
Where is the link(s) to the presidents remarks????
Let's see if this one works.

So denjolly, you've heard the President in his own words. What do you think now?
I watched the event live on CNN and was dismayed that he didn't ditch whatever he had planned to say and go straight to the news of the shootings at Ft. Hood. He did come across as insensitive, I'll grant on this one. I'm still scratching my head on this.
Not everyone handles bad news the same way. What some may see as insensitive, others may view as calculating and under control. The nations business did not stop because of this incident. And the President did not continue his prepared speech. He had to switch gears without panicking. Insensitive? Perhaps it appeared that way. But then what should he have done? I think he did what was needed at the time. I think questioning his motives makes me wonder what are the motives of those who were paying more attention to what the President did or did not do, said or did not say, as opposed to concern over what was going on at Fort Hood. The day after 9/11 no one was questioning Bush and most Americans were in support of him. Why can't this president get the same respect the day after a similar tragedy?
The latter of course ( IS ) a rhetorical question.
Yes, he should have taken a page from George Bush's play book the day he found out we had been attacked on American soil. There were no sudden movements, no quickly made decisions, no hurry to take action. Yes, old George knew how things should be done.
What was he supposed to do? The beat goes on.....
The last time the President made an impromptu comment about an issue without the benefit of knowing all the facts was when he commented about the Cambridge Police, Skip Gates incident. He was crucified in the press about that. A lesson learned perhaps?
Yes Charles the ship must be kept steady as she goes. Reasoned thought coupled with several escape plans BEFORE passing comment must be the order of the day. Shooting from the hip usually only gets ones' own foot shot off.
Oh yeah. Let's compare Obama's response this week to Bush's on 9/11 ... where Bush stared into space for a really long time and then spend the rest of the day hiding rather than responding. Even given a full day and access to a host of advisers, he still just fumbled through. Even then, everyone gave him the benefit of the doubt, until he turned it into an excuse to go to war with a country that had nothing to do with 9/11.
