A question for you scrollsawers

I'm pretty sure I'm not up to doing this project: view link but I'm just curious what level of difficulty you would place this at.

Since I've not really done *any* scrollsawing to speak of, it's beyond my level of expertise but when I see stuff like this my mind wanders off on its own, giving no concessions to reality.

It's worth a shot....just go slow and remember the thickness of the blade....but I'd try it on a couple of scrap or cheep pieced before I tried it on an expensive piece of wood or ivory....

You will need a good saw and extra fine blade and go very slow. i would use a soft wood maybe bass or sweetgum.

Hey Mad, Just borrow Lou's cnc machine. A quick scan into the ol' carving machine and you could knock those out with your feet up!

i personally would cut the outside and then paint it.

A project like that would drive me crazy . . I've used mine for stuff like cut out letters for signs, teago. . . . Also I played around with those templates myself and did some pretty neat cubism. Check linkmplates for kids' directional development in the classroom. I did that for my wife about eight years :
