Speaking of Chicago....

My Chicago trip to attend the Playing for Change concert would not come to fruition without or very own SPitt...I stayed at Belden-Stratford a great old girl; this hotel is on the historic registry...what a beautiful setting for my trip it was a special treat...nestled in Lincoln Park overlooking the Conservatory...unfortunately my room was just on the 3rd floor so I did not have a view of the lake also...next time I will certainly asked for 5 floor or above....My first night we were driven to the south side and had a great barbecue meal...an epicurean delight..the evening followed with a stop at Artis's Lounge for some Blues after a few Rum and Cokes I was ready to brave the harbor for a quick tour. Mary Lou how wonderful that you were able to meet SPitt during your visit with your family. The video and music are sensational. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

Chuleta - you asked so here goes -- Maerin is absolutely right. we had a great time and the pictures are what she said they are. Monday night I took them to one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago Chuck's Southern Comfort and BBQ. Chuck Pine used to cook with Rick Bayless and caters his parties. Then we hit a blues club for a couple of drinks and Maerin was a good sport when we went for a quick stop at Jackson Park Harbor. It was a chilly, windy night. Tuesday's dinner was very good and the concert was fantastic.

I will say I had a great time and was honored to meet Maerin and her family. That smile and those dimples are even warmer in person. Wouldn't have missed it and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Meeting our wonderful friends of Somos continues. Today we are in LA and I plan on catching up with our own Ed. Maerin and SPitt glad you were able to meet and it looks like you had a wonderful time.

Thanks guys it was indeed a fun fill couple of days and I look forward to meeting all of you in person, even if it is one at a time...hopefully come spring 2010 I will meet most if not all of you..
Ed are you still contemplating Ruben Blades concert??? Give me a holler...
