The movies are great, but I think it would be grand to see live theater again. I haven't been to see a play since going to see the Nutcracker two or three years with my middle daughter - guess that technically isn't a play, but more a musical.

Back in June we went to Houston and saw "Fiddler on the Roof" with Topol. That tour was his farewell tour - he was to retire after the run. It was fabulous.
I love live theater! I also love being in plays! I was never in any of our school productions, though. I auditioned, but never made it. I think I was way too self-conscious then. I had to mature enough to realize that it was okay to make of fool of myself if I was having fun, and who really cared what anyone else thought?
Churchmouse, only you! I never even thought about trying out, and I absolutely hated music class in junior high because eventually you had to sing in front of everyone. Horrors and nightmares - still. Now I loved working on the sets for our church skits and things in high school. Keep me back stage if you want help, otherwise, put me in the front row with a play bill. lol I should look into seeing if there is a little theater over in Mason - they put on The Music Man somewhere there I know. After all, Mason City is the inspiration for that movie.

Wasn't he married to Mason when she did The Goodbye Girl? And didn't he also produce the play The Odd Couple?
Yes to both Salt, the Odd Couple was my favorite Neil Simon play made into a movie, loved Jack Lemon and Walter Matthau.
In high school I was into drama and one semester in college, I was able to get parts because my voice carries so well, and I really enjoyed doing it. My starring role was as the witch in Hansel and Gretel and in college I played Tituba in the Crucible.
Does that mean I can hear you clear up here teacup? lol.

From what everyone tells me, they can hear me in Alaska! LOL
Oh, Ollie, if you want to feel REALLY appreciated, by all means - volunteer for backstage work. Actors are nothing with out costumers, set builders, prop people, lighting & sound technicians, and stage hands. And then you get to watch the plays for FREE, for the whole run.
