I'm switching around the news channels to get a picture of what happened -- what a tragedy!

I just heard that the shooter is still alive after being reported dead.

I think the obama administration is playing this whole thing down as much as they can. Its clearly a case of a muslim terrorist attack on American soil, But our muslim "Liar in Chief" doesn't want the American people to see it for wgat it is.

I've heard the shooter was upset about going to Iraq. He didn't want to go over there and have to shoot fellow Muslims. Yet - he didn't mind killing many of his fellow soldiers. That is sick and annoys the crap out of me!
Our military is very down on his list of priorities - paying off political favors, spending trillions, taking over health care and nationalizing businesses and campaigning are way ahead of the welfare of our soldiers.

I want to side with Obama when he says that we shouldn't jump to conclusions because there is so much more to learn and find out about what happened. Is he sincere (1) because he learned his lesson about jumping to conclusions about the white officer who arrested the black professor, or (2) because this shooter is muslim? Sorry to sound so jaded, but he has no credibility in my opinion. However, I agree that we should not jump to conclusions.
Interesting story on NPR this morning about his poor performance evaluations, being late for work, etc. Also interesting that he gave a speech at a conference where speakers would normally talk about mental health issues and what to do about them, but instead he talked about the koran and his beliefs as a muslim. He said that those who don't believe, according to the koran, must be killed by chopping off their heads or pouring hot oil down their throats. A muslim in the audience questioned him about this and whether the koran actually teaches that and he continued to espouse his beliefs -- afterwards a group of attendees joked about how some day he'd lose it and shoot people -- prophetic?

My brother was there for some 5 years at DLI (Defense Language Institute).....
The individual that commited these murders is obviously in need of mental help, even though he was - alledgedly - a mental health expert.....
With others, I offer condolences and pray for the families of those murdered and wounded.....
But this is the act of a single individual, not a mass act resulting from a policy.....and must be tried as such.....
You don't know that as a fact, you're just guessing.

OldMike,
Don't know - what - exactly - as a fact?
What are we guessing at?
If you dispute the policy observation, feel free to offer an alternative point of view.....supported of course by authoritative sources.....not extreme left/right websites or religious websites.....
I have never cited an extreme left/right website or religious website to support my position.
My comment was simply that YOU made a conclusory statement about the shooter WITHOUT any proof. You (and I) don't that he acted as an individual. Maybe he did, maybe not.
What policy observation do you think I'm commenting on? My comment was simply directed at your unsupported "act of a single individual" comment -- that's not a policy statement.
If it turns out that your guess is correct, then I of course support your conclusion, but I can't support a conclusion to a totally unsupported premise. Period.
