Does Your Back Hurt Too Much To Date?

I have heard some singles say they would love to get out and date if it weren't for their back hurting. Seems as we age backaches can become a chronic problem. They can prevent us from doing many of the things we used to enjoy like sports and possibly even sex. Just what advice do you have for someone who wants to date but feels they can't because of their back?

So many excuses, so little lifetime.

We can come up with more reasons why we are not dating......

Let's face it, we all do what we want to do, one way or another. And we all don't do what we don't want to do, one way or another.

There are meds out there for chronic back pain and back pain can be the meds for not dating too. I have had back surgery in 2007 and would not recommend it to anyone there are so many ways to fix backs now non invasive.

Im with Marti, this year I turned 55 have had 2 major surgeries, nearly died on the last one, now seeing a kidney spec, have fibromylgia for the past 17 years all I can say is "keep moving" life is too short and when I move it hurts less. Sitting makes it worse since it puts more pressure on the spine and muscles... I would go see a dr if the pain is not stopped by over the counter meds.

Once in a while I get a sore back ---but sitting around and doing nothing just makes it worst---When I walk a lot and keep my mind and body active my sore back goes away on its own.

Backaches can put a crimp in your lifestyle, but I do agree that one of the best remedies for a backache is activity. It seems the less a person does the tighter their muscles become. Exercise is now touted as the #1 way to treat back problems. At our ages everyone is bound to have some kind of ache or pain anyway so that shouldn't stop a person from dating. You may have a backache but your date may have sore knees or bursitis.

Like most things in life, we can find an excuse not to do something. Or a reason to do it. Depends on what you really want.

OK...I have a herniated disk. Since that happened, I've had to give up the missionary position in favor of the cow girl position. I keep telling myself its part of the curve of life. I'm still finding it hard to deal with.
