Dad Has Alzheimer's

After reading some of the posts in here I want to say that I feel for all of you. Many of you are talking about spouses having dementia, but my father has Alzheimer's and I'm having a hard time trying to manage telling my kids how to feel about it and how to act around him. I found something about Alzheimer's on a site.

I showed that to my kids and it seemed to help a little bit. Maybe it can help some of you too.
I'm very sorry to hear about the heartache of going through this. My support goes out to all of you.

Thanks so much. Our aunt just left this life for one much better and my mother in law, Ma Katie, is in the last stages. Now she sleeps most of the time or just looks at us like she should know us but does not. I find it much like when I try to thik of someone's name and it won't come to me. Nothing comes to her. They are testing this week to see if it is time for hospice as she is having to be fed now.

It has been a long hard six years of humor and sorrow. We have come to know her on a far deeper plane as she ceases to know us at all.

Praying you all up!
