best asking a vet so as not to harm her.

precious is the same way when traveling, she screamed the whole way
now I leave her home and my daughter goes by and takes care of her !
but if you have to transport them I'd say a vet should have a pet sedative

Liv what is the furthest you have driven with her? Afriend told me they do eventually stop crying.. I really hate to sedate her if I don't have to.

Many years ago I traveled cross country, from FL to AZ with a cat, a small siamese....five days in a car. The first three days were horrible...pretty constant crying, scratching to get out of the carrier, pooping and peeing in her carrier, refusing to eat or drink....used a leash to keep her from running off when I let her out....lots of scratching and biting....the last two days I think she was just exhausted from the fighting and starving. If I had to do again, would go for the sedative.

Orange Park about 40 minute drive and then back the next day, was visiting my brother and he suggested bringing her to play with his two

She was a siamese, who do tend to be more high strung...but have never had a good experience traveling with a cat...even short distances like to the vet or across town... they don't like being cooped up...love em, but not on the road.

I have had many cats and none of them handled the auto or the cage. If you start your kitten out as a baby kitten and take them some where every day, you could train them, If you have to take your cat, I would go for the sedative.

I personally feel is scares them so bad, that I would leave your cat home and get someone to feed her.

When I go down to my house in RI for an extended vacation I take my two cats. It is only an hour drive but the first few times I did it with them they cried the entire time. Then I got them a couple of new soft sided carriers, each has their own. I sprinkled some cat nip on the interior and bring out the carriers a day or two before the trip. I still have a hard time catching them and getting them into the carrier, but the crying has stopped and they seem to enjoy there time at the house with me. I go through the same trouble trying to catch them to bring them home! LOL

I like the way that sounds T2 she is going to need to travel with me to NC. I left her home last for 3 weeks. She had a minimum of 6 visitors a week. But I can't ask them to do that in the dead of winter. Thanks everyone.... The sedative will be the back up.
