Who I Deserving of a Flu Shot?

The thoughts that are being espoused in our country are scary and appauling. Who is worthy to receive the swine flu vaccination? Who will pick and choose those who are worthy. Who is important enough to the collective people that they would need to be protected?

I know that I would not be one of those people. Little old me, firstly old, who needs old people around? How about politicians? Oh yes, they are worthy. Who else?

Those evil wall street types and bankers, oil company executives, pharmaceutical ceos, insurance salesmen....they don't deserve it!

They have a risk assessment to determine who gets the first round of vacciines....but from what i have seen in the lines of people waiting to get the shot...they ae not going by it.

I think anyone under the age of 60 will be able to get it.....over 60 might be a problem....they are already saying that "older" people should already have some immunity to it.....wonder how...if it hasn't been here before. Anyway......I don't think I will even brother with it.

The 'pig' portion of the strain is close to flus that many middle aged and seniors have already had before. The 'bird' section of it is new. The two combined make up the HIN1 flu that is going around. The ones most affected, that have no resistance, are the young which is why they are given preference and pregnant women. Those with already weakened immune systems, other health conditions may also be vulnerable. From what I read, it attacks the upper respiratory system and can collapse the lungs.

But that is why certain groups, those at higher risk, are the first to get the vaccines. If one keeps up with the news, the fatalities are primarily infants to teens.

Well lets see.....................there is only so much to go around. What would you suggest Scottmpa?
Its no ones fault that only so much can be made in so much time......................someone has to do with out so who? Who should decide? someone has to..............I don't see a problem. If we form commitees to decide we would be waiting forever so why not do what is being done already, the most vulnerable get first dibs. I would not get it anyway...........I never get a flu shot. Did once and was sick all winter, it does not stop colds. I have faith and when my time is up its up, I am not afraid of a flu bug. Jeepers. Every year people die of the flu, they always have. This one so far is no worse. Why make a huge deal out of something like this, its a non issue.

Didn't get the H1N1 shot....got the flu instead, 15 days later and I'm still fighting the pnuemonia that followed the initial flu stuff.

it's the nastiest flu i've had.

For those of usx who were around in the '70's, and got the flu shots then, wasn't it the same type of swine flu? Remember President Ford taking the First shot? Too bad our current administration is not doing the same thing. Mass/Texas/NY and some others have immunized their prisoners first, which at first I was upset about, but in thinking about it, what hospital is going to be able to handle thousands of patients at one time? Seems at first a pretty silly idea, but thinking about it, not really all that silly.

Why, aren't they people, too? The Pity Party hasn't started yet. Poor you. Think you deserve it more than someone else? How about a pregnant/nursing mother? Are you in the high risk group? Cowboy up.

Hell, if I'm not sure the vaccine won't kill me....I would try it out on prisoners first.

Actually if they all got sick with flu what hospital would take them all? Can you imagine the security risks?

Hospital...what hospital. They would have to quarantine the prison.We'll throw Tylenol over the wall.

Sorry...the State will pay your burial costs.
