5 Fingers Prayer

Taken from Daily Prayers

1. Your thumb is nearest to you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. They shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact That this is our weakest finger; as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night.

5. And lastly comes our little finger; the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

Hello my brothers and sister in Christ, I beg you to add to your prayers, my mother; she goes to a crucial problem, and only God Our Father can give her wisdom, to take the best way. Bless you all.

I LOVE the 5 finger prayer - indeed praying is a sweet duty we Christians have. I will pray for your mother and for her to be open to God's direction in her life.

Father in Heaven,
You made Chosi's mother, Your child
and called her to walk in the Light of Christ.
Free her from darkness
and keep her in the Light of Your Truth.
The Light of Jesus has scattered
the darkness of hatred and sin.
Called to that Light,
I ask for Your guidance.
Form her life in Your Truth,
her heart in Your Love.
Through the Holy Eucharist,
give her the power of Your Grace
that she may walk in the Light of Jesus
and serve Him faithfully.

Amen

and a Prayer for the Gift of Wisdom

Great is the wisdom of the Lord!
God Almighty, Your Wisdom includes
An understanding of what is fair,
What is logical, what is true,
What is right and what is lasting.
It mirrors Your pure intellect!
I entreat You to grant Chosi's mother such Wisdom,
That her labors may reflect Your insight.
Your Wisdom expands in Your creations,
Displaying complexity and multiplicity.
Your Wisdom is an eternity ahead of man.
May Your wisdom flourish forever!

Amen

Thank you, thank you, I don't know what Our Father has direct to her, but she seems more peaceful now. I know prayers move mountains.

The mountains sometimes are moved all at once - or they may be moved a little bit at a time as they are in my life. I just keep chipping away at the mountains with prayer. Edges soften, the mountains are more like foothills now - more manageable. . .

We will continue to pray for you and your mother.
