I've been to Victoria....and that sounds like a crock of poop to me..i speak english and have never had a problem with the language there...whomever wrote this was a fool!

like GingerAnnette, i've spent quite a bit of time in Victoria - one of my favorite bootmakers lived there prior to his death & i worked several cases out of there, too.

the article sounds like a BLIVET to me.
(fyi, i was born at night but not last night.)

I'm from Victoria, NO problems here.

It is pretty average small town that has outgrown it's britches. Everybody likes to be in everybody else's business but there are new retail stores and traffic issues.

We have a lot of cultures here due to the Formosa Plant nearby. The town mixes them all pretty well and nobody gets in each others way. Except maybe their cart in the grocery store!

Victoria is average and proud of it.

Happy to hear that the article is a false representation. It is also as Ajiji wrote "mean-spirited and divisive", and part of the problem that causes hate and such incidents as at Fort Hood. Different hater there, but hate just breeds ugliness anywhere it takes root. I am saddened by some of the ugliness that I receive in my emails from people whom I considered "clear-thinking" or not taken in by such hate that is wrapped in the guise of humor.
