Have you ever thought of how a rainrow is a perfect picture of God's grace? Life's storms may buffet us, ripping apart our plans, and flooding us with multiplied problems, many of which are of our own making. But grace is God's promise that we will not be destroyed, just as a rainrow was His promise that He would never again send a flood to devastate the earth.
The following poem puts that promise in perspective.

GOD'S PROMISE TO YOU

IN LIFE'S DAILY WALK
THERE ARE DROPS OF RAIN
IN LIFE'S EVER FLOWING JOURNEY
THERE IS OFTEN SOME PAIN

BUT, MY FRIEND,
WE NEED NOT FEAR
FOR YOUR LOVING SAVIOR
IS ALWAYS NEAR

HE GIVES US GRACE TO BEAR
THE PROBLEMS THAT PASS OUR WAY
YES, EVEN ON THAT VERY RAINY DAY

SOMETIMES WHEN THE RAIN OF LIFE
COMES TO EACH ONE,
WE FEEL FOR A MOMENT
WE CANNOT FIND THE SUN

BUT GOD'S PROMISE TO YOU IS
LOOK UP AND SEE,
THE LOVE HE SHARES WITH BOTH YOU AND ME

FOR, MY FRIEND
A RAINBOW WILL APPEAR
AFTER THE STORM CLOUDS OF LIFE HAVE CLEARED

Sweetpattieann, I will never forget going to a funeral for a friend. The day was cloudy and rainy, no sunshine. Out came a rainbow, despite the absence of sun. We were all amazed at its beautiful colors and its uncanny timing. Everyone ran outside to see it. It brought a comfort to the family.
