I made this tonight and it is to die for. It is very rich and sweet so just a little will go a long way.
6 tablespoons butter
1 3/4 cups sugar, divided
1 cup self rising flour
5 1/2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, divided
1/2 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup toffee bits
1 1/2 cups boiling water
Preheat oven to 350
Place butter in 8x8 baking pan. Place in oven for 5 to 10 minutes or until butter is melted. Remove from oven.
In a medium bowl, combine 3/4 cup ugar, 1 cup flour, 1 1/2 tablespoon cocoa. Add milk and stir well. Pour over melted butter, spread it out but do not stir.
In a seperate bowl combine remaining 1 cup sugar, 4 tablespoon cocoa,, pecans, and toffee bits. Sprinkle evenly over the top of the chocolatr mixture in the pan. Carefully pour the boiling water over top (do not stir). Place in oven and bake 30 to 40 minutes or until top looks set. Serve warm
