That's the type of shot that invites your eye to roam around all over it to take in all the details. The flag standing out straight adds a lot of drama to it, as well as giving me a cold shiver down my back. I tend to think that it is cold in Nova Scotia all the time.

Only one problem with this photo,
giving the flag and the steeple equal prominance.

looks like a 30 feet tall flag pole , appears to be 50 feet away from the church .
Steeple is somewhere around 75 feet in height , I thinks its very appropriately placed in the photo.
