I think someone from Arkansas could be cavalier, but not a Cavalier.
Galloping was the first "G" word that came to mind, nothing deep there.....I was just trying to find something similar to Fighting Irish and Galloping Germans sounded right to me.
I like the Fighting Mormons, that's good.

I'm pretty sure the midgets teams are a level of very young hockey. When we lived in the UP there was hockey before Nathan was toilet trained!! Serious business there.
I think you are right, Trish!
Here is one more for the road -
Tuscany Teetotalers
Baltimore Butterflies
Detroit Daffodils
Minneapolis Norwegians

I don't know about peewee hockey, but I just checked on the internet. The Midgets are the Hurley High School team.
How about these names to strike fear in the hearts of your opponents:
Kimberly Papermakers
Butternut Mighty Midgets
Monroe Cheesemakers
St Mary's Springs Ledgers (sound like a team of geeky accountants, maybe I'd fit right in)
And, not to pick on just our own State for fearsome High School Mascot Names:
(Alabama) Sidney Lanier -Poets
(California) Dunn HS -Earwigs
(Colorado) Clear Creek -Golddiggers (Must be a girls team, just kidding ladies ;)
(Connecticut) Nathan Hale-Ray -Noises (No, I am NOT making these up)
(Georgia) Cairo -Syrup Makers
(Illinois) Tuetopolis -Wooden Shoes
(Indiana) Lincoln -Alices
(Michigan) Watersmeet -Nimrods
(Nevada) Virginia City -Muckers
(New Jersey) Vineland -Fighting Clan (No, not them, but ya'd think they'd change it)
(New York) Warrensburg -Burgers
(North Carolina) Cary -Imps
(Pennsylvania) Allen -Canaries
(Tennessee) The Webb School -Feet
(Texas) Hockaday School -Daisies (In Texas???)
(Virginia) Madeira -Snails (I understand they have a great cross country team)
(Washington DC) Cardoza -Clerks (I thought I'd see "Windbags")
(West Virginia) Poca -Dots (No, I am still not making these up)
OMG! Striking fear in the hearts of opponents with these names? Maybe laughing to death or doubling over so they can't play! The EARWIGS?? I have them inside my outdoor trash can! Ewwwww~
Quite entertaining, Merc!
I wonder if all the cheers for the POETS rhyme or are they in Haiku?
I see Virginia City changed the first letter of their team name to "M"...
I could go on -
Sheboygan Toboggans! There's one for ya Lil! But I like Schnitzels too!
