Well I guess our minds are going into the same directions...that is what I am thinking of doing, already found a class, but have not bought my Dulcimar yet.....You make it sound like it is great fun,
funforlee, I was very fortunate that my neighbor teaches and they have a whole group including minister that plays at their church groups.... Also although I am not a member the church loaned me one of their student dulcimers to practice on until I get my own.... I didn't want to invest until I was sure I would like it....
I'm envious of your abilities to take music lessons.....and the dulcimer is beautiful when played correctly...Will be watching for a You Tube video!!!!
How fun! and Good for You! Years and years ago, I had a friend who made and played dulcimers. (We were the 'founding mothers' of the local folklore society.) Thanks for reminding me to get out my guitar and start pickin' again!

After my lesson yesterday, I find I am having trouble counting the beat..... So the Unity church here has a drum circle once a month so I might try that..... LOL
I applaud you, doggonehappy, as it isn't easy to get out of your comfort zone and learning an instrument or anything new and different. I, too, will forward to a You Tube video. Marty, start strumming. We all need to encourage each other.
Yes Marty, just bet your fantastic on that Guitar !! my middle son plays the Guitar, also gives lessons..
Never heard of a Dulcimer!! what type of instrument is it anyway? guess I need to do a google search!!
I think its a great idea to step out of the comfort zone and learn something! I should do that..but I probably won't.
It is a 3 to 4 string instrument, they play it a lot in the Appalacian Mt. regions...
