another not so great idea

46. LastPass 1.51 (password manager, free) LastPass 1.51 automatically fills in saved logins and forms with the click of a button. This handy Web freebie and browser plug-in also syncs your data to any computer that you use regularly. You always knew that someday you'd find a more reliable password manager than your yellow Post-its.

that was the entry for a list f great things....but how about the fact that if you get hacked...they have ALL your passwords and accounts....not just eons and yahoo etc but banks... brokerage houses...utilities etc..and access to all the security overrides....in fact there was one net site that wuld remember all your passwords and account niumbers for you...great service...but it seems it was shut down cause it was actually an information harvester for identity thieves

This sounds great , amond. I have been using (and paying) for Roboform for a long time. And here , with the guys, learned to put it in a flash drive so I could use it with my laptop. I am thrilled now!
I will try this one. TX!!

did you read it

, the last say it is a information harvester for identity thieves.

i've seen those services and thought that was a dumb idea. with sites being hacked left and right.

great way to just give all your info to who ever.

Okay, I get your drift but I use Roboform...what would you recommend instead. You mentioned a flash drive but I have no idea what you're talking about. What is it and how would I get all my info switched over?

Are you talking of recording them on a CD that would then tell me the info? Thanks!!

I use both Roboform and Stickypassword on my computers. I don't worry about anyone "hacking" into the database as both programs have excellent encryption and are password protected and I use a strong password for that database. As an extra precaution, however, I don't include my banking passwords in the database. Those are on an encrypted flash drive kept in one secure place.

Should add I wouldn't use any of the web based password programs as that database would not be under my control.

Katiee, a flash drive is a small USB storage device.

You know what? Someone once told me to use one of those which I did not do.

I'm glad you brought that up Amond.

I use a little notebook. Copied it into another little notebook. I keep no passwords, etc. on my computer.
