opinions needed

well I am hoping I done the right thing, but still have until Saturday to change my mind.
I presently have AT&T DSL, AT&T phone, and Dish Network Satellite for TV. This is all bundled under one plan by AT&T
Recently I got a call from AT&T telling me about their new Uverse plan which is a fiber optics system for phone, computer and tv. The services I would get are the same as I get now with the present system, except for a few new upgrades. But the big thing to me is that it would all cost me $30. less a month than I pay now, and 30 bucks is 30 bucks!!
Has anyone heard of Uverse? Do you have it? I need to hear pros and cons.

Good luck dealing with the customer service in India.
My friend bought a new house ....prior to moving in she ordered the u-verse bundle and was told that her phone could be activated on the same day that the u-verse was activated.........a week later a call from India.........we are unscheduling your u-verse installation as there is not an active phone line......no luck explaining things..........several calls later........and with the additional treat of automated operators she finally got through to a real live person in this country..........after explaining everything she was assured that there was no problem having the phone and u-verse installed at the same time......installation scheduled as before..........yesterday......... 2 days before installation another call from a different person from India unscheduling the installation because there was not an active phone line (she had taken the installation day off work) once again no luck explaining..............stay tuned for an update.............just one more good old American company keeping Americans unemployed while they save money.

Apparently she didn't talk to Mr. Apou, who has been very, very helpful to me.

I am impressed with the u-verse............I'll wait and see what happens with my friend and if things go smoothly from here on out I'll probably get u-verse also.
My other concern is similar to what dodger experienced....I like some of the Fox Business channel's programs and that channel is only included in some of their more expensive packages.....which in turn includes ALOT of programming for which I don't wish to pay extra $$$'s.

Yes, I am not getting some of the channels I had with Direct TV. No biggie though. I do like it for the internet. So far, no problems and I've had it for about 6 months.
